Opening of UMM Student Awards 2021
Malang (15/12), The UMM Student Awards 2021 award event was just held with great fanfare on Wednesday night at the Hall Dome of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang. The award event was held in order to award the umm championship winners and outstanding students. The event took place with strict Covid-19 pademi health protocols and quota restrictions and was accompanied directly by Maharesigana (Disaster Alert Volunteer Students).
UMM Student Awards 2021 is a series of closing activities in the field of student affairs at the end of the year, starting with the UMM Championship which took place from October 05 - November 28, 2021. The UMM Championship was attended by 1724 participants from various universities in Indonesia with 331 winners from 26 branches of the competition. This event also appreciated several nominations in the field of student affairs, including the ranking of Faculties in the Rector Cup event, Lecturers who accompany and inspire students, Lecturers who drive student achievement activities, Student activity coaches and achievement initiators, Study Programs with achievements in the field of student affairs, UKM with the most achievements and student awards with dedication to the country.
The opening of the UMM Student Awards 2021 was opened by Ir. Suharti, MA, PhD. The secretary general of KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK RI gave his appreciation and support for the UMM Student Awards activity which has organized activities that support the government to improve the achievements of Indonesian children not only in academic achievement, but also non-academic achievement.
UMM Rector Dr. H. Fauzan, M.Pd said that Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang has a strong determination aimed at students, so there are two things that must be mastered, namely academic competence and leadership competence. In addition, the Chancellor also advised all students to become leaders who can be role models and can inspire. To answer this, he explained “then UMM has made the UMM Pasti program, meaning that there are two things that can be ensured, the first is that you will certainly graduate on time and the second is that you will certainly be independent, each of which has logical consequences for grabbing a better future,” said Fauzan.
Rahmawati Khadijah Maro as Chairperson of the UMM Student Award Committee, in her remarks said that the UMM Student Award is a UMM achievement event with the theme “strong character, great achievement”. In line with the theme raised, this event is an effort to strengthen progressive, dynamic, reformist, futuristic students with appreciation awards. The Chairperson of the UMM Student Award Committee also said, UMM Championship aims to explore the potential and achievements as well as creativity in the field of talent interest, reasoning and Al Islam Kemuhammadiyaan which is Islamic character education from Muhammadiyah universities.
In this prestigious award event, one of the Agribusiness Study Program Students, Ayu Suryandari Putri Pertikawan received an award from the National Bakti Camp which was named the National Kawan Bumi Ambassador. (OO)
