Dozens of UMM Agribusiness Students Passed Ministry of Research and Technology Grant & PKM Funding

The Agribusiness Study Program of Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) achieved an extraordinary achievement after successfully qualifying for funding for the Student Organization (ORMAWA) Campus Activities Program (PKK) in 2023. This success shows UMM's commitment to supporting and developing the agribusiness sector in the future.

In this prestigious competition, HIMAGRI UMM, which consists of 15 members chaired by Muh. Ikhwan with the proposal title Development of agri-tourism-based tourism villages through optimizing the management and diversification of vegetable crops in Pandesari Village, Malang Regency, managed to outperform its competitors with proposals that are innovative and have the potential to have a positive impact on agribusiness development in Indonesia. Muh Ikhwan said, “Thank God we passed this program. Thank you for the support of the UMM Agribusiness study program and HIMAGRI. This extraordinary program makes our enthusiasm more motivated to serve the community, we hope that students and the community can always collaborate to develop micro and macro areas towards a better direction.”

The head of the UMM agribusiness study program, Ary bakhtiar, welcomed the achievements and success of his students in funding the PKK ORMAWA. He stated, “the student achievements that have now been achieved are the hard work of a solid and extraordinary Agribusiness Study Program team, starting from the existing academic community to collaboration with DUDI partners. Agribusiness Study Program also established cooperation for international apprenticeship in Japan and Summer School in Thailand,” he added with a relaxed smile.

In addition to PKK ORMAWA, recently Agribusiness students Viky Meidy Wahid and Team also succeeded in obtaining PKMPM funding from Kemdikbud Ristek with the Proposal Title “Build Generation For Tourism Future. ICT-based Youth Softskill Improvement Program in Kucur Village, “added Zul Mazwan as Secretary of the Agribusiness Study Program as well as the internal person in charge of this funding program.

The success of the UMM Agribusiness Study Program in funding PKK ORMAWA and PKM 2023 also reflects UMM's commitment to answering global challenges in the agricultural sector and the need for quality human resources in the field of agribusiness. Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang continues to strive to become a COE (Center Of Excellence) center of excellence in agribusiness education and research, and make a real contribution in encouraging economic growth and community welfare through the agricultural sector. The joy of this success was also expressed by one of the students who joined. Rico revealed “This extraordinary sense of pride, I thank God and congratulations to HIMAGRI friends who have passed these prestigious competitions. Hopefully in the next opportunity, HIMAGRI can still maintain its achievements and existence and be more active in participating in other prestigious competitions to develop the agribusiness sector in the future.”
