UMM Agribusiness COE students collaborate with Export Expertise
This resin export project to India is concrete evidence of the dedication and hard work of the Professional Export Class students of the Agribusiness Study Program at UMM. They have gone through a series of thorough preparations to face the complex challenges of the export business. Starting from identifying potential markets, negotiating with local producers, arranging logistics, to ensuring the quality of the products to be exported, these students have undergone a very intensive process.
Working together with various related parties, including local damar producers, buyers, and relevant institutions in Pontianak, UMM Agribusiness students were able to carry out this export project meticulously and successfully. With full support from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, they also received technical and strategic guidance from the Agribusiness Program partners who are already engaged in the export field, namely PT MAS Group.
The resin products exported by UMM students meet high-quality standards and have successfully secured a place in the competitive Indian market. Students still have export opportunities such as bananas, areca nuts, nipa leaves, sweet potatoes, and kapok. Potential destination countries for exports include Malaysia, Singapore, India, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and the USA.
This success not only brings pride to the Agribusiness Program at UMM but also has a positive impact on the local economy in Pontianak.
