The tracer study is an initiative program of the Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) designed to map alumni career paths while strengthening relationships between the alma mater and its graduates. Through an integrated digital-based system, this program not only aims to collect current data regarding profiles, career development, and alumni contributions to society but also builds an interactive platform to facilitate collaboration, information exchange, and professional development opportunities. The online system allows alumni to periodically fill out tracer study questionnaires, report career achievements, and access job matching services, training, or webinars organized by UMM.
On the other hand, the collected data becomes strategic evaluation material for the university to improve curriculum quality, align study programs with industry needs, and optimize career support services for active students. Additionally, this program also serves as a bridge connecting alumni across different generations, creating a solid community through networking, mentorship, and job opportunity sharing. Thus, UMM's tracer study is not merely administrative but also becomes part of the university's commitment to supporting alumni's continuous self-development and strengthening an educational ecosystem that is responsive to global market dynamics.
